Moria VR
Contemplative VR experience
As part of our second year at E-Artsup Toulouse, we had the incredible opportunity to participate in a unique creative challenge. Under the guidance of our teacher, a select group of students collaborated to bring the legendary Mines of Moria to life in an immersive virtual reality project. Drawing inspiration from J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, our goal was to re-create the grandeur and mystery of Moria with the best fidelity.

The result is a contemplative virtual reality experience that captures the immense scale and intricate architecture of Moria. By donning a VR headset, users can find themselves standing in the heart of this mythical underground city. Although the player remains static within the environment, they can freely look around, turning their head to take in the awe-inspiring surroundings.
The experience is designed to emphasize the atmosphere and ambiance of Moria. This is not a game with objectives or movement but rather a moment of pure immersion, allowing the audience to simply contemplate and connect with the beauty and mystery of this iconic location.
Our team’s work on this project was an exciting exploration of both the creative and technical aspects of VR design. It was a chance to collaborate, experiment, and bring to life one of the most beloved settings in fantasy literature through the lens of modern technology. We are proud to present the Moria VR Experience, a labor of passion and creativity that demonstrates the power of virtual reality as a medium for storytelling and artistic expression.
